From January to August 2020, China’s graphite electrode exports totaled 209,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 21.4%. The main exporting countries of China's graphite electrodes in August 2020 were Malaysia, Russia and Turkey.

According to customs data, China's oil-based needle coke imports totaled 30,000 tons in August 2020, a year-on-year decrease of 98.86% and a month-on-month decrease of 73.28%. From January to August 2020, China's oil-based needle coke imports totaled 15,900 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 84.62%. From January to August 2020, the main importing countries of China's oil-based needle coke are: Japan, Sweden, and Germany.

Coal series needle coke
According to customs data, China’s coal-based needle coke imports amounted to 8,300 tons in August 2020, an increase of 68.69% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 7.40%. From January to August 2020, China’s coal-based needle coke imports totaled 64 thousand tons. A year-on-year increase of 4.93%. In August 2020, China's coal-based needle coke main importing countries are South Korea and Japan.
